Frequently Asked Questions
We’re more than happy to answer all of your kayak rental questions. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to contact us.
Our kayaks are NOT tandem kayaks. They are designed for one adult only.
It really depends on how far you want to kayak and how strong the wind is. Kayaking can be as leisurely or strenuous as you (or the wind) want to make it.
You don’t need to know how to swim, but you must let us know when you check in on the day of your rental, so that we can give you a proper life jacket.
Wear whatever will make you comfortable on the water, given the conditions on the day of your rental. Wearing something that you don’t mind getting wet in is a good idea. Swimwear or board shorts are great options — and water shoes are nice to wear if you own a pair. Hats and sunglasses are optional; sunscreen shouldn’t be. We have wetsuits and booties for rent, should you want them.
Absolutely! Kids can kayak with a parent or guardian. If you’re planning on kayaking with kids, it’s best to make sure that there aren’t any high winds on the day of your rental.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult/parent or legal guardian.
It’s best to be here 15 minutes prior to the start of your reservation so that we can get you checked in and ready to go so that you get a full two-hours on the water.
You may lose all or part of your reservation. Your 2-hours starts at your reservation time — not when you walk away from the shop with your board.
We have parking, but with limited spaces. If you can’t find parking in our lot, there are usually plenty of spaces on the street.
You can either leave them in your car and leave your car keys with us — or you can leave everything at the shop behind the counter.
Yes. We have an outside hot shower, as well as a hose for feet and hands.
