Andrew Drake has been surfing for over three decades, nearly two of them spent in the Pacific Northwest. A competitive surfer with a growing list of awards to his name, he runs our Washington Surf Academy, where he teaches stand up paddle lessons on Shilshole, gives surf lessons on the Washington coast, and manages our WASUP Yoga stand up paddle yoga classes.
Originally from the inland surf mecca of Detroit, Jim has resided in the great state of Washington for 22 years. His love and appreciation for surfing came originally from the waters of Washington. The fact his mother lives on Oahu doesn’t hurt either. Jim is also part owner of Gracie Barra Seattle Jiu Jitsu.
