Frequently Asked Questions

We’re more than happy to answer all of your stand up paddle board rental questions. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to contact us.

The Basics

It really depends on how far you want to paddle and how strong the wind is. Stand up paddle boarding can be as leisurely or strenuous as you (or the wind) want to make it. In fact, the beauty of SUP is that it is so incredibly versatile. As long as you can kneel, stand, and paddle, you should be able to make SUP work for you.
You don’t need to know how to swim, but you must let us know when you check in on the day of your rental, so that we can give you a proper life jacket.
Wear whatever will make you comfortable on the water, given the conditions on the day of your rental. Wearing something that you don’t mind getting soaking wet in is a good idea, on the off chance that you fall in. Swimwear or board shorts are great options — and water shoes are nice to wear if you own a pair. Hats and sunglasses are optional; sunscreen shouldn’t be. We have wetsuits and booties for rent, should you want them.
Absolutely! Kids can paddle alongside a parent or guardian — or they can ride on a parent or guardian’s board. If you’re planning on paddling with kids, it’s best to make sure that there aren’t any high winds on the day of your rental.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult/parent or legal guardian.

It’s best to be here 15 minutes prior to the start of your reservation so that we can get you checked in and ready to go so that you get a full two-hours on the water.
You may lose all or part of your reservation. Your 2-hours starts at your reservation time — not when you walk away from the shop with your board.
We have parking, but with limited spaces. If you can’t find parking in our lot, there are usually plenty of spaces on the street.
You can either leave them in your car and leave your car keys with us — or you can leave everything at the shop behind the counter.
Yes. We have an outside hot shower, as well as a hose for feet and hands.
